The playing future of Eliesa Katoa remains unclear with Melbourne Storm CEO Justin Rodski issuing a concerning health update on the hospitalised star on Friday.
Katoa had brain surgery in an Auckland hospital after receiving three head knocks in the space of 90 minutes while representing Tonga during a Pacific Championships clash at Eden Park a fortnight ago.
After the repeat head knocks, the 25-year-old suffered seizure activity and a brain bleed . He was given an oxygen mask and rushed to hospital before requiring surgery.
Last week the family revealed that he had been moved into a different part of the hospital in an encouraging sign, but Rodski said the club was still concerned about his recovery and did not want to “get too far ahead of ourselves”.
