FARGO — The West Fargo and Fargo Davies volleyball teams played two tightly-contested matches in the regular season.
Both affairs ended in favor of the Eagles in the decisive fifth set.
The positive outcome for the Packers was that as the old saying goes, it's tough to beat the same team three times. They showed why during Thursday's East Region tournament semifinals, earning a 3-0 road sweep of Davies to punch their ticket to the state tournament for the first time in three seasons.
"So happy, so exciting," sophomore outside hitter Mya Glandt said. "I can't wait to do it with this team."
It was Glandt who provided the state-clinching kill in the third set for West Fargo, which picked up wins of 26-24, 25-23, 25-23.
