SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The official autopsy report into the death of 18-year-old Giovanni Pelletier has concluded the cause of death was likely drowning, several national news outlets are reporting.
Pelletier disappeared Aug. 1 while on vacation with his immediate family in Englewood.
On that night, Giovanni, who lived in North Carolina, was with three cousins in a Chevy Malibu heading from Englewood to Brevard County to visit relatives from his father’s side of the family.
Authorities say the cousins told investigators Giovanni suddenly began to act erratically before exiting the vehicle which had stopped on I-75 and walking away near the State Road 70 interchange.
