NEW DELHI: Bihar moves into the verdict stage on Friday as counting began at 8 am, alongside bypoll results for eight assembly seats across six states as well as union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Early trends in the Bihar elections show the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) crossing the halfway mark, widening its lead over the Mahagathbandhan. By 9:15 am, the NDA was ahead in 130 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan led in 65, indicating a conversion rate of about 27%.
The Bharatiya Janata Party led the tally with 60 seats, followed by its ally Janata Dal (United) with 54. Together, the two parties posted an average conversion rate of around 67%.
