TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The University of Arizona Police Department (UAPD) has received $16,000 in grants from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for fiscal year 2026. These funds will enhance DUI enforcement and the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP).
UAPD is actively supporting the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force, receiving $10,000 from GOHS to boost officer participation in impaired driver enforcement efforts.
An additional $6,000 grant from GOHS will aid UAPD's STEP initiatives, allowing for increased enforcement and public education during high-traffic times and holidays.
