GEORGETOWN, Mass. —

One man is dead after a pedestrian crash in Georgetown, Massachusetts, on Thursday night.

The collision occurred near 50 West Main Street at about 5:41 p.m.

The Essex County District Attorney's office says a 2018 BMW 430xi Coupe struck the man, who was immediately transported by EMS to Merrimack Health Haverhill Hospital.

The victim succumbed to his injuries, and his identity is not being released at this time.

The driver of the BMW remained at the scene, and it's unclear if they will face any charges.

Police did not say whether or not the victim was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
