EUSTIS, Fla. – Residents of Creek Run Lane in Eustis returned home Thursday evening after crews completed emergency road repairs in just six days, marking a significant milestone in the city’s recovery from last month’s devastating floods.
Fire Chief Michael Swanson announced the reopening at 5 p.m., culminating a round-the-clock effort that compressed what would typically be a four-month project into less than a week.
“I’m proud to announce that this road is now open, both lanes!” Swanson declared as residents celebrated their return with honking horns and cheers.
