CINCINNATI, Ohio — Joe Burrow’s return to Bengals practice on Monday caught his top target, Ja’Marr Chase, by surprise.
Burrow hasn’t played since he had surgery to repair a turf toe on Sept. 19.
In his Thursday press conference, Chase expressed genuine surprise at seeing his quarterback back on the practice field just two months after Burrow’s injury. The star wideout was direct when asked about Burrow’s aggressive approach to recovery.
“I didn’t know he was practicing. I was surprised. I just seen him putting his stuff on. I didn’t know what was going on,” Chase admitted to reporters.
