MARTINSVILLE, Ind. — Three police officers are being hailed for saving two people from a house fire in Morgan County Sunday morning.
According to Morgan County Sheriff Rich Myers, Deputies Richard Lidell and Jonathon Karr were serving an outstanding arrest warrant with Martinsville Police Ofc. Quentine Oxendine around 3 a.m. Nov. 9. When they approached the home near Schwab Drive to serve the warrant, they noticed fire coming from a home on Meredith Place. Karr used a fire extinguisher from his patrol car to knock down the flames on the outside of the home, but he realized an interior wall was still on fire.
