LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, LMPD was dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision at South Hurstbourne Parkway and Watterson Trail.

Officers arrived shortly after and found a multi-vehicle crash involving at least four vehicles, LMPD said. Emergency crews, including EMS and Fern Creek Fire, were also dispatched to the scene.

Because this collision happened during rush hour and required emergency equipment, authorities had to shut down the roadway, causing delays.

First responders were able to provide aid at the scene and transport five people to area hospitals. Four others were evaluated but not transported, according to LMPD.

Police said they are still investigating the crash and working to determine the cause. LMPD is handling the ongoing investigation.
