FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — At Foothills Brewing in Winston-Salem, beer still drives the business.
But they've also invested in THC drinks, selling "Little Tree Drinks" at 10 mg each.
New federal regulations would limit products to 0.4 mg of THC per container.
"I'm not even sure if we would make a 0.4, it's not really enough to be an intoxicant," said Jamie Bartholomaus, president and co-owner of Foothills Brewing.
While their business will stay afloat, there could be trouble down the line.
"It will hurt our business, we hired people just for hemp. So, you know, we'll either have to assimilate them into different roles or lay them off," Bartholomaus said.
This won't only impact Foothills, but the dozens of companies they make drinks for in-house.
