HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service has cancelled the Wind Advisory that was in effect for portions of Maui County and Hawaii Island.
The strong high-pressure system that was to the north of the island chain continues to push further eastward and away from the state, causing the trade winds to slow down in speed. Moderate to locally breezy trades are expected over the weekend.
Expect increased windward showers to continue into Aloha Friday, with a majority of showers expected over windward Maui and Hawaii Island. Less rainfall is expected over the weekend.
Some weather models are indicating a chance for heavier rainfall at the beginning of next week due to an upper-level disturbance. However, there is wide disagreement in some of the weather models. We’ll continue to
