AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Contaminated batches of infant formula recalled nationwide for potential botulism contamination were sold in the Augusta area, prompting safety concerns for local families.

Taylor Moody, a local mother, said she purchased ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula at the Target on Robert C Daniel Parkway before the recall was announced.

The formula is being recalled because it could be contaminated with bacteria that cause botulism.

“She is the most brilliant, vibrant child I’ve ever met in my entire life,” Moody said of her 10-month-old daughter, Andy.
