CHAPIN, S.C. — The Chapin Planning Commission voted on November 132025, during a special meeting to postpone its decision on the proposed Brighton Planned Development, a project that would bring 377 homes to the Chapin area. The delay marks another setback for the development, which has been under discussion for more than a year.
The Brighton project, proposed by Mungo Homes, would span roughly 160 acres within the Chapin Business & Technology Park. While developers have continued meeting with the town over the past several months, many residents have raised concerns about how the large-scale neighborhood could affect traffic and already crowded schools.
