San Jose Bishop Oscar Cantu from the Diocese of San Jose talked about the America’s Roman Catholic Bishops’ message Thursday against mass deportations.
The message was released during their annual meeting in Baltimore. It did not call the Trump administration by name, but the bishops said they oppose the “indiscriminate mass deportation of people” and that they “prayed for an end to dehumanizing rhetoric and violence.”
It’s been 12 years since Catholic bishops issued a special message like this, the last time being in 2013, when they came out against mandating contraceptive coverage under Obamacare.
