ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Central West End residents are calling for traffic safety improvements on Lindell Boulevard after a traffic study revealed crash data and speeding concerns along a major corridor.
Molly Rater walks to work along Lindell Boulevard almost daily and lives off Debaliviere, putting her on Lindell four days a week. She said she worries about her safety as she walks along the major street.
“As a pedestrian, I feel like the cars go way too fast,” Rater said. “If I’m on the sidewalk and somebody is in the right lane and they’re speeding, I really feel like they’re going to go off the road and hit me.”
Alderman Michael Browning, who represents Ward 9, held a meeting Thursday to get opinions on traffic calming and safety measures people would like to see on Lindell
