GRANT COUNTY, Wash. – A fatal traffic collision occurred on State Route 28, approximately seven miles east of Quincy, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol.

The incident took place on November 13, 2025, at 1:52 p.m. when a vehicle attempted a left-hand turn onto eastbound State Route 28 from a private driveway. The vehicle, driven by Luis Castro, 36, from Othello, failed to yield to an oncoming truck traveling westbound, resulting in a collision.

The truck, driven by 49-year-old Joshua Julian from Ephrata, collided with Castro’s trailer. Julian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident.
