The BJP-led NDA has mounted a strong challenge to the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar's Bhojpur belt, which is considered a stronghold of the RJD. Early trends show that the NDA is ahead in 30 of the 49 seats in the region, while the Mahagathbandhan is leading in 17 seats. In the 2020 elections, the Mahagathbandhan dominated the Bhojpur belt.

The scenario mirrors the overall trends , which show that the NDA is firmly in the driver's seat in Bihar, even though the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan is close behind.

In fact, exit polls by Axis My India predicted a close contest in the region, which is near the capital Patna. It predicted 27 seats for the NDA and 21 seats for the Mahagathbandhan. Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party is unlikely to open its account here.
