JACKSON, Mo. (KFVS) - She hasn’t played golf her whole life, but she likely will for many years to come.
Jackson senior Julia Schlitt signed to play collegiately at Columbus State Tuesday, ensuring a stellar high school career would have a chance to blossom even further at an elite level.
After a signing day with dozens of friends and family watching, Schlitt spoke on her ability to continue playing golf at college.
“I’m really excited,” Schlitt said. “I’m ready to wrap things up here as much as I would hate to leave this amazing place, but wrap it up here and then go down south.”
While golf is definitely her sport now, Schlitt’s athletic journey didn’t start out on the green. In fact, it was probably the furthest sport from golfing.
