GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Northwest Vikings head football coach Kevin Stein is retiring after 16 seasons leading the program.
Under Stein’s leadership, Northwest made the postseason 12 times, with this past season marking his 11th straight postseason appearance.
Stein said he feels he has been able to rebuild the Northwest program and believes it’s time for someone else to take over and lead the way.
In retirement, Stein said he will miss the special moments with his team.
“Coaching is like any kind of addiction, positive or negative. The highs are so high, you know, the late comeback wins, the excellent catches or tackles or blocks that a guy does.
