Arson is suspected by Polk County Sheriff’s officials in connection with two rural East Grand Forks fires which occurred Sunday night.

A garage, valued at $3,000, was destroyed by fire about 6:45 p.m., and approximately two hours later another fire was reported at a vacant farm house, authorities said.

The garage, located nine miles southeast of the city, was owned by Maurice McDonald.
