Investors in the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2017-18 Series-VII will receive ₹12,350 per gram at maturity, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The tranche, issued on November 13, 2017, completes its eight-year tenure on Thursday (November 13, 2025).
The redemption price has been determined based on the simple average of closing prices of 999-purity gold published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) for November 10, 11, and 12, 2025.
The bonds were originally issued at ₹2,934 per gram, with investors applying online receiving a ₹50 discount at ₹2,884 per gram. Based on the final redemption value of ₹12,350, investors have earned a return of about 321% over eight years, excluding the fixed 2.5% annual interest paid during the tenure.
