New Delhi: The residence of Dr Umar Nabi, the prime suspect in the car explosion near the Red Fort, was demolished by security forces early Friday in Koil village, in the south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
Authorities say the action was carried out overnight, after forensic analysis established Dr Nabi’s identity through DNA matching between remains recovered at the blast-site and samples from his mother. ADVERTISEMENT
The blast, which occurred on Monday evening, claimed at least 13 lives and caused injuries to several others. Investigators allege the white Hyundai i20 used in the attack was driven by Dr Nabi and was laden with explosives.
Law-enforcement sources further indicate that the demolition is part of a broader counter-terrorism response, aimed at dismantling support networks
