Tributes have been paid to a popular teenager who died just a day after being diagnosed with leukaemia.

Harley Andrews, 16, was admitted to the Royal Bolton Hospital on Saturday where, according to a fundraisers, he was told he had an 'aggressive form' of the blood cancer. And they say that in a 'devastating turn' he died the early the following day (November 9).

He played local amateur football, firstly for for his dad's team, Leigh Town, before moving to Astley & Tyldesley FC in January 2023 where it is said he was a 'pivotal part' of a league and cup double win in 2024.

Two fundraising pages have now been set up to raise funds for his family.
