"Ronald McDonald House keeps families together," Amanda York told the Leader at Tamworth's Ronald McDonald House, ahead of McHappy Day.

"And they're just great, because they are here just as much as we need to come here," she said.

It's the "little things," Ms York said, that she loves the most about Ronald McDonald House.

"Like the toothpaste and toothbrush they provide in the bedroom, which I've forgotten a couple of times."

The Gravesend farmer and mother of two is a regular visitor to Tamworth's Ronald McDonald House. Her son, Maverik, has congenital hypothyroidism - an exceedingly rare condition that requires consistent specialist treatment.
