TRI-CITIES, Wash. – Two Tri-Cities high schools have been recognized for their efforts in creating welcoming and inclusive environments.
Kamiakin High School received the Culture Kick-Off Award from the Association of Washington School Leaders (AWSL). This award highlights schools that promote a positive atmosphere through engaging assemblies, strong school themes and community-building activities.
Principal Chris Chelin expressed his pride in the school’s accomplishments.
“This recognition is a reflection of the incredible dedication of our staff and students,” said Chelin. He emphasized the school’s belief that shared experiences strengthen relationships and help every student “Be The Best They Can Be.”
Chiawana High School was also honored with the 2025 AWSL Culture Kick-Off Award.
