NEW DELHI: Reports say 31-year-old Dr Mohammad Arif arrested in connection with the Red Fort blast, studied medicine at the Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram. Arif, a native of Anantnag in Jammu, got admission in Thiruvananthapuram MCH after writing National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exams for under graduate course. When he was arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad, Arif was a senior resident doctor in the cardiology department of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial (GSVM), a government medical college in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Arif's name surfaced when the phone records of Dr Shaheen Saeed, who was arrested on November 9 in the blast, were examined. The investigating officers said the two had been in regular contact for several months. Arif was arrested from a rent
