A former student has transformed his side gig of reselling vintage clothes into a full-time business, raking in five figures each month.
Scott Atkins, 21, from Glasgow, was studying engineering at university and working as a design engineer alongside his degree. He initially started reselling second-hand clothes on Depop and Vinted in February 2024 to make an extra £200 a month for a car finance payment.
Despite the challenges of juggling his job, studies, and a three-hour commute to his job in Edinburgh , Scott persisted with his side hustle until it began generating thousands of pounds in profit.
In April this year, Scott took "a leap of faith", quitting his job and leaving his degree behind to focus on his reselling business. In May alone, he reported revenues of £
