A terminally ill cancer patient has tied the knot with his girlfriend in an emotional ceremony at his hospice bedside, thanks to the kindness of strangers.

Karl Marsh, 52, had originally planned to marry Sarah, 42, at a registry office, but they had to alter their plans due to his declining health.

Karl, who was diagnosed with tongue cancer in May last year, is currently receiving palliative care at Katharine House Hospice in Stafford.

The hospice staff transformed his room into a makeshift wedding chapel for the couple, who exchanged vows on Remembrance Sunday.
