Iam surprised no one has pointed out the following oversight: The Ohio Department of Transportation’s recent re-do of the overlapping sections of Interstates 271 and 480 in both directions has a major flaw in not connecting northbound I-271 with eastbound I-480. The way it was configured, it seems there never was any intention for a dedicated lane connection. I cannot believe this occurred, since these are major interstate highways.
But to not have along this overlapping six-mile section any overhead signs informing I-271 North drivers where they can exit and connect to I-480 East is inexcusable.
Only if you know where to look and are already getting off at Exit 23 (Broadway Avenue) will you spot small I-480 East signs about 0.2 miles to 0.3 miles from the highway alongside several north
