Ten countries have signed a declaration to fight misinformation on climate issues to empower local leaders, communities, and businesses to work towards solution.

Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Uruguay are the countries that signed the declaration on November 12, r ecognising "threats to information integrity" as one of the key challenges.

On the third day of COP30, they affirmed to ensure equitable access to accurate, evidence-based information on climate change and cooperate on capacity building, especially as the spread of misinformation including outright denial of climate change and deliberate attacks on environmental journalists and scientists are all delaying urgent action.
