Princeton, ranked No. 6 in the NJ.com Top 20, moved one step closer to a third straight Group 3 state title when it defeated Toms River South in straight sets at home on Thursday in the semifinals of the NJSIAA/Wilson Girls Volleyball State Tournament.

Although it failed to win a set, the South Sectional champion Indians fought tooth and nail, hotly contesting the first two sets of the match before succumbing 25-20, 25-20, 25-12.

The Tigers now move into the state final on Saturday at Franklin at 11 a.m. They will face Millburn, the North II champ, which was a straight set winner over North I champion, Ramapo.
