With Samuel Montembeault struggling and fans calling for Jakub Dobes to become the No. 1 goalie, it was Dobes who got the start Thursday night at the Bell Centre against the Dallas Stars. Article content Article content
It did not go well.
Dobes allowed five goals on 13 shots and was pulled by head coach Martin St. Louis after the second period with the Canadiens losing 5-0.
The Stars then scored on their first shot on Montembeault and added added one more goal on their four third-period shots to win 7-0 despite being outshot 24-19.
Dobes’s record is now 6-1-1 with a 2.70 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage. His save percentage over his last four games is .839. Montembeault’s record is 4-4-1 with a 3
