Ranchi, Nov 14 (UNI) In the ongoing counting of votes for the Ghatshila Assembly by-election in Jharkhand, JMM candidate Somesh Chandra Soren has taken a clear lead after the completion of the seventh round of counting.
According to information shared by the State Election Office, Soren was ahead by 7,762 votes at the end of the sixth round. BJP candidate Babulal Soren is trailing in second place, while Ramdas Murmu of the Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKMM) stands in third position.
A total of 20 rounds of counting have been scheduled, with 15 counting tables set up for the process. The final results are expected to be declared later in the afternoon.
