Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared a video that he said showed his country's new "Long Neptune" cruise missile, which has a range of up to 1,000km (621 miles), in action against Russia.

Zelensky has sought long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles from the U.S., unsuccessfully so far, as Ukraine also tries to ramp up its own production and development of Long Neptunes.

The domestically-produced missile is a variant of the original R‑360 Neptune, an anti-ship missile, and gives Ukraine greater ability to strike deeper into Russia—a long-range capability Ukraine says is vital to increasing pressure on the Kremlin to make peace.

It was unveiled in March 2025 after successful testing and Zelensky said it was being used in combat.
