Anant Singh, the ‘bahubali’ politician who is often in the headlines, has won from Mokama seat in the 2025 Bihar elections. Singh, who was super confident of another triumph, had prepared for a grand feast early on Friday with two lakh gulab jamuns on standby, ready to be distributed after a sweet victory. Anant Singh defeated his closest competitor, RJD’s Veena Devi, by over 30,000 votes.

The only question now is whether a man inside Beur Jail on murder charges can once again take oath as an MLA. After winning in 2015 as an Independent and again in 2020 on an RJD ticket, Singh contested in 2025 for JD(U).
