Current office holders on the Columbia Public Schools board are planning to run for reelection.

Board president John Lyman, vice president Paul Harper and long-range planning chair April Ferrao issued a joint announcement Wednesday, Nov. 11.

They first were elected to the board in 2023 for their first term. School board terms are three years.

"Over the past three years, we've made tremendous progress together," Lyman said, adding in a separate statement that he's most proud of the effort that redrew district boundary lines due to additional school buildings planned, opening and expanding. "We knew the community was going to have a lot of feelings about that. We wanted to make sure we gave people as many opportunities as possible to share their thoughts."
