The Association of Fundraising Professionals CA Desert Communities Chapter held its 19th annual National Philanthropy Day Awards Nov. 7, recognizing six outstanding philanthropists within the Coachella Valley.

The awards luncheon, held at Agua Caliente Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, celebrates those individuals and organizations that embody the annual theme of changing the world with a giving heart. The sold-out ballroom of nearly 400 guests was welcomed by emcee Patrick Evans, KESQ's chief meteorologist.
