1Man found dead in alley behind Gist Avenue as Baltimore police launch homicide probe

Baltimore, MD – A 57-year-old man was found dead with upper body trauma in the rear alley of a Northwest Baltimore neighborhood Thursday afternoon, prompting a homicide investigation by city detectives.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., officers from the Northwest District responded to a “check-the-well-being” call in the 5300 block of Gist Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the man in the alley suffering from visible trauma. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
