The man accused of killing Scots gangsters Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr at a Costa del Sol pub has been told his days at a cushy Spanish jail dubbed ‘The VIP prison’ have come to an end. ‌

It emerged a fortnight ago Michael Riley’s lock-up since his October 15 extradition to Madrid had a 65ft-long swimming pool and individual cells with private bathrooms for inmates allowed to wear their own clothes. ‌

Riley, arrested in Liverpool a fortnight after his alleged victims were shot dead on May 31 at Monaghan’s Fuengirola drinking hole, now faces having to see out the rest of his pre-trial prison time at a jail near the murder scene. ‌
