MAYFIELD, Ohio -- The annual Halloween tradition continued as 23 Mayfield Heights and Mayfield Village businesses offered up their storefronts so that young students could paint their scariest designs for local shoppers.

The Mayfield Village Parks & Recreation Department conducts the yearly contest that includes 6th, 7th and 8th graders from Mayfield District schools, as well as students from St. Paschal and St. Francis Catholic schools.

In all, 48 students participated in this, the 25th year of the Halloween Window Painting Contest.

The contest began Oct. 2, with students being given until Oct. 28 to complete their paintings.
