BJP candidate Jay Dholakia registered a landslide victory in the Nuapada bypoll, securing 1,23,869 votes after the conclusion of all 29 rounds of counting.

He defeated Congress candidate Ghasi Ram Majhi by a massive margin of 83,748 votes, while BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria finished third.

The final tally placed Ghasi Ram Majhi at 40,121 votes and Snehangini Chhuria at 38,408 votes. Dholakia’s consistent lead throughout the counting process reflected the strong support he enjoyed across the constituency.

After the demise of Nuapada MLA and former minister Rajendra Dholakia, this by-election was conducted. Polling took place on the 11th, and counting was held on Friday.
