A supermarket set to open minutes away from other stores in a Cambridgeshire suburb has applied to sell alcohol. Lidl is set to open as part of The Boulevard development in Hampton Avenue, Peterborough .
When Lidl opens, it will create 40 new jobs. In the lead up to its opening, the supermarket has submitted an application to Peterborough City Council to sell alcohol.
In the application, it has applied to sell alcohol during its open times, which will be 7am until 11pm for seven days a week, including Sundays. The applicants have also listed steps it will take to “promote the four licensing objectives”, which are: prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance and protection of children from harm.
