One of the most high-profile impacts of the shutdown was the effect on federal food assistance through the SNAP program. On Thursday, some state officials said SNAP recipients should have received their full monthly benefits yesterday or by today. However, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says it could take up to a week.
