Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the “resounding" mandate delivered by the people of Bihar is a “seal of approval on the NDA’s committed service to development in Bihar".

He made the remarks in a social media post as the BJP-led NDA registered strong leads in more than 200 of the state’s 243 assembly seats, with trends indicating the alliance was on track for its biggest tally yet. The NDA crossed the 200 mark, with the BJP ahead in 95 seats, the JDU in 84 and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in 20.

Shah also offered “a million salutes" to the “people of Bihar Bhumi", calling them “protectors of knowledge, hard work and democracy".

The senior BJP leader added that the NDA’s victory is the victory of every Bihari who believes in a developed Bihar.
