Bainbridge Island City Manager Blair King will retire after 45 years in local government, including four years for the City of Bainbridge Island, according to his announcement at a city council meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
King was selected as City Manager in 2021 from a field of 66 candidates, with the council at the time initially split 4-3 before unanimously approving King's position after the other favored candidate dropped out. Now, the incoming city council, with two new members elected on Nov. 4 , will start looking for an interim replacement as King's last day is Friday, Jan. 30.
