HUNTINGTON — The Amazon Customer Service Center on Kinetic Drive in Huntington will close by May 2026, a public relations representative for the company confirmed via email this week.
The representative said the associates there will keep their positions, wages and benefits.
“We remain committed to serving our customers, and we’ll be providing support to our team members over the next six months as they move into virtual positions,” the company said in a statement.
David Lieving, president/CEO of the Huntington Area Development Council, said those on the council had heard rumors about a reduction of employees at the local Amazon facility “for the past few weeks,” but were unable to confirm them, as their former point of contact at Amazon had left the company.
