SRINAGAR : Police in Awantipora have arrested a long-term absconder who had been evading detention for an extended period, officials said on Friday. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

According to police, non-bailable warrants under Section 299 CrPC and Section 335 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita were issued by the Principal Sessions Court, Pulwama, against Sartaj Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ab Rashid Sheikh, a resident of Khrew. The accused was wanted in two cases registered at the Police Station, Pampore.

A special police team, headed by the SHO Pampore and supervised by the SDPO Pampore, was constituted to execute the warrants. The team apprehended the accused and subsequently produced him before the court.
