A 69-year-old woman was killed Thursday night after she collided with two cars on Interstate 195 east in Somerset while driving the wrong way on the highway, officials said.
Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash around 7:45 p.m. Thursday after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a wrong-way driver on the highway leading to a crash, the Bristol County District Attorney’s office said in a statement. Arriving first responders found three vehicles involved in the crash.
Police determined the wrong-way driver had hit two vehicles travelling in the correct direction on the eastbound side of the highway. One occupant of each of those vehicles was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the district attorney’s office said.
