Providence police investigating suspicious death of woman shot in the head

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police are continuing to investigate a suspicious death after a woman was shot and killed Thursday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. at 1003 Broad Street where responding officers located an adult female who suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Providence police said that there is no threat to the public and detectives are investigating the incident.
